2026 European Artistic Craft Days in partnership with fashion house Hodakova

After hosting HODAKOVA’s first Parisian fashion show during Paris Fashion Week® last October, the Musée Bourdelle continues its partnership with the young Swedish brand and offers, as part of the European Artistic Crafts Days, two workshops and a lecture with HODAKOVA on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Known for her upcycling artistry (silver spoons, ballpoint pens, etc.), designer Ellen Hodakova Larsson, winner of the 2024 LVMH Prize, is a rising star in the fashion world. Fresh out of school, she launched her brand HODAKOVA in 2021, with the goal of creating unique pieces from discarded objects and materials.

For her first Paris Fashion Week in the fall of 2025, she chose the museum’s concrete walls as the setting for her Spring/Summer 2026 collection. Thatched roofs, broken umbrellas, books, loungewear, straw hats, and mittens... Ellen Hodakova Larsson restores these discarded materials to their former glory by creating whimsical and daring pieces, akin to sculptures, that challenge consumer practices and habits.

To further this exploration of upcycling techniques and craftsmanship, musée Bourdelle offers an exceptional program in collaboration with HODAKOVA’s teams and partners during the 2026 European Artistic Crafts Days.

This partnership with HODAKOVA resonates with the exhibition “Magdalena Abakanowicz. The Thread of Existence,” on view through April 12, 2026, at musée Bourdelle and dedicated to this Polish artist who created monumental textile sculptures from recycled materials (potato sacks, horsehair, etc.). It also foreshadows the museum’s upcoming exhibition, “The Fabric of the Artist” (September 23, 2026 – January 24, 2027), which explores artists’ attire and the self presentation of artists from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century

Schedule for Saturday, April 11

Workshop with Marine Leparc, professional thatcher specializing in thatch roofing

From 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In collaboration with the academic organization Dacapo (Mariestad, Sweden), Ellen Hodakova Larsson has drawn on the traditional craft of thatching—now primarily used as roof insulation—to create eccentric dresses conceived as true sculptures. Echoing her Spring-Summer 2026 collection, a first workshop led by Marine Leparc, a professional roofer, explores working with thatch.
