The Antoine Bourdelle book collection and archive
The archives of Antoine Bourdelle (1861-1929) include his writings: articles, theoretical texts, prose and poetry, personal notes, lectures and lessons given at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière from 1909 to 1929, his projects, sketches and correspondence, as well as numerous administrative documents. Thousands of letters provide an illuminating insight into the milieu in which Bourdelle lived and his relationships with the artists, writers and key figures of his time.
An inventory of the Antoine Bourdelle Archive was carried out in 2008–2009, in partnership with the Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art (INHA) and the Centre André Chastel. This inventory is listed in the Guide des archives de l'art conservées en France (19th–21st centuries) (GAAEL) and on the Portail des collections des musées de la Ville de Paris (City of Paris Museum Collections Portal).

It is an invaluable tool for researchers and complements the series of publications on the Antoine Bourdelle Archive, which the museum launched in 2005: Cours et leçons de Bourdelle à la Grande Chaumière (Bourdelle’s Lectures and Lessons at the Grande Chaumière); L'Atelier perpétuel : proses et poésies (1882-1929) (The Perpetual Studio: Prose and Poetry); Chemin faisant: notes et relations de voyage (1901-1927) (On the Way: Travel Notes and Relations [1901-1927]).
The publication La Mémoire à l'œuvre : les archives Antoine Bourdelle (Memory at work: Antoine Bourdelle's Archive) shows the richness and variety of these archives, which can be consulted by appointment at the Antoine Bourdelle Research Centre.
