From Daguerre to the present day, the photographer's studio is the place par excellence where the magic of image-making takes place. This exhibition brings together the history of photography and the history of photographic equipment, revealing how prints are made behind the scenes.

In this exhibition, the Musée Bourdelle takes us into the magic of image-making, the processes involved in creating photographs and their aesthetic and social uses.

The photographers' view of their practice is reflected in 54 works, each illustrating a process or a pivotal period in the history of photography, from the daguerreotype of 1839 to contemporary images.

An introduction to the technical history of photography through master or emblematic works from the collections of the City of Paris, each illustrating a key moment in the discoveries and experiments that have underpinned the adventure of photography, from its beginnings to the most contemporary research.
